Representations of the human figure
in clay are as old as ceramics itself - more than13,000 years of world history.
'Body', as curated by Matt Nolen, is an exhibition of contemporary ceramics
by 6 New York artists providing diverse
interpretations of figuration:
vessel as metaphor, social and political commentary, depictions of heaven and hell, microscopic forms, body as shelter,
oral obsessions and the culture of desire, arousal and consumption are just a few of the themes found in this exhibition.
